I was having my afternoon snooze when i was rudely awakened by a text message from a friend,as i read it in a daze of half asleep i said to myself"oh no !!".
Whilst im not a huge fan of Syds work with the Floyd i totally see that without him there wouldnt have been a Floyd.
Rest in peace man-your demons and the doorsteppers cant get you now.

It's sad, so sad. We all knew this day would come one day, but I never seriously considered that day would be now.
As David Gilmour said he'd lost a lot of family and friends over the last few years, who would have know that last Friday Roger Keith Barrett went for that great gig in the sky ?
I've tears in my eyes and a strange feeling on my throat.
Shine on, Syd. You'll live forever through your songs !!!

All youve missed so far is the ''coming up'' bit Keith, the feature will most likely be in the last 5 or 10 minutes of the programme, I am recording, I'll see what the report is like before torrenting tho, if its a hack job I'll just scrap it but I suspect Newsnight will be quite respectful.Keith Jordan wrote:Oops. Missed it! Anyone record it to torrent?simpledumbpilot wrote:Newsnight will be running a feature on BBC2 in the next half hour.

Just shows life's high's and low's ... seeing DG and RW live this year with their obvious tributes to Syd in their set lists. And then this ...
RIP Syd, you started the legend, and possibly didn't appreciate how much it touched generations of music lovers through the years. Its a sad day that you're no longer around ...
"Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun"

Nothing to hide here.
Those of you veterans still lurking, know me.
ITP..
I hope I can stick aroud a while.
I had to come here. To read.
I heard it on the radio, just on the way to the mall to go buy new things for the house, and it felt like I'd just been shot in the throat.
I have been out of the internet for months, and the news in Wenatchee spreads so slowly, they just got around to mentioning his passing today.
I am heartbroken. I have had a stream of tears down my cheeks for an hour already. I knew that there would be a thread here. (Or several.)
I want to thank everyone here who, in the past, gave me so many interresting conversations surrounding Syd.
Everyone's company will carry on in my heart, as much as my adoration for Roger Keith Barrett.
Those of you who know me, well..... ya'll know how I feel about Syd, so with that, all I can say is shine on.
