I just happened to be playing Shine On on the acoustic and had just finished the arpeggios at the end of part 5 and my dad shouted through with this terrible news. Such a bizarre coincidence.

Oh man this is just sad....

I think Syd was a real genius I know so many people who thought early Floyd was garbage but they totally failed to see the genius of Syd and his work and his experimentalism...

Shine on is now playing in my house and ive played along to the first part on the piano out of respect for a great, great man

There's still a bit of space below "Neptune Pink Floyd". It may wind up being too cluttered, though. It's just a suggestion, but they're the most sincere and appropriate words I can come up with.

part of my heart si gone... Syd we hardly knew ye....
God i wish he could have know how he was loved... i hope his famliy knows... i long for them to make some staement ... i know they are grieving.. but it would be nice if they told us he KNEW... i am devastedted and sorry if not making much sense.. just sick inside
