It depends on how much both of you are willing to let the other one make influence on your life. You can have a completely different mindset, completely different reactions and life principles and most of the time it doesn't matter at all if you really want to get along. It starts being horrible when of you tries to change the things the other one does he/she hates. That is the first symptom that there is no real respect for each other, and when there's no respect you can't expect much of anything, really...

She doesn't get you? How come? Usually it's the other way around...

I'm sure it's also horrible.

I've noticed that many guys that like chicks that have completely different beliefs than they do are over-attracted to one of two things.

1) Good Looks.
2) A long history with that person. For instance if a dude grew up with a girl, then he knows her well, but she may grow up to have completely diff beliefs than him. Even still, that history can make a dude attracted to her if #1 is established.

Lately, I've had a friend with a similar dilemma. He liked this chick, and he said that he was in love with her. So curiously, I ask, what is she like? what do you like best about her? So he tells me, well she's hot and nice. So, I say "What do you two have in common?" He says, "Um, well we both like sex" and I say "Hmm" He tells me that she's not really into a lot of stuff he is and that she doesn't have good taste in movies.

I dunno but to me it seems like he just wants some booty, but is mistaking it for love. it annoys me sometimes how dudes can fall in love with looks or how chicks can fall in love with money.

I guess I just have higher standards?

Well there are some standard things that always have to be present in order for me to be attracted to a dude like:
1. Looks
2. Charm
3. Sense of Humor
4. Intelligence

The rest is purely up to what I'm just attracted to at that moment. I have also not been attracted to dudes that had all 4 qualities above b/c there was just something missing that I couldn't understand, but in order for any dude to have a chance with me, they have to have those 4.

Hope that made sense :)

Well I think it's very important, but it's not the ONLY thing.

In my friends case, it really was the only thing keeping him attracted to that girl. There was nothing else for him to like, but he fell in love with that one quality. Dunno if he didn't think he could do better or what.
