Of course I'd rather she gave me one, but the cost of road tax, insurance (let alone the fuel costs) means it wouldn't be practical to accept such a gift.Syd'sSexy wrote:You mean driving in her Hummer, or giving you one?garygreen wrote:I prefer her humming

Re: Rachel Fury doesn't breathe!
We always called that "in-through-the-nose, out-through-the-mouth" breathing "circle-breathing" (I played trumpet for 12 years. It's almost like a mythical thing, as it's extremely hard to do. Dizzy Gilespie may have done it a bit, but, yeah, he puffed out his cheeks which is something MOST horn players will tell you is a no-no as it tend to decrease your control over notes. As with anything, though, there's always exceptions.
As for audible breathing in "Great Gig...", I was under the assumption that the song was really meant to express the torrent of emotions following someone's death, expressed in this song as a lamenting lover or mother might do. If that be the case, I find a few gasps suitable to the piece. I do agree, though, that large gulps of air too often can do the exact opposite of what is intended. I wasn't as impressed with Rachel's version as I thought I'd be by the reviews of her on YouTube. Still, it wasn't that bad. I've yet to really hear a version that I absolutely loved. The lady recording the first part on the PULSE tour was alright (I hope that wasn't Rachel Fury with blonde hair, else I suffer embarassment here), save for a few notes.
It really is a crucial piece in women's improvisational rock. Of course, there aren't that many out there. A little variation is welcome.
