I'm really disappointed with this re-re-release. A TRIPLE cd...which consists in a double version of the same songs (only 9 songs...) and a ridiculous bonus tracks cd, which is nothing new....always the same soup!

I won't buy it!
FANS want REAL stuff, interesting material.
We AREN'T the sheep, which follow each other, buying this scam, harmlessly passing our time in the grassland away....are we?!

There is new stuff here. First, we have no official mono mix in print: the one that circulates is actually a needledrop made with 1996 technology. The mono mix is also very different.
The Early Singles/First Three discs are rare and sound pretty bad, and the stereo Apples And Oranges only exists as a needledrop. The EP edit of IO circulates in sorry shape, and the two unreleased takes (Mathilda Mother and IO) don't circulate at all and are likely to completely new.

If this sells, I have a feeling we may see more. If we're lucky, 2008 could bring us A Saucerful Of Secrets with it's mono mix, IWBSN/Julia/PMATS/CWTAE, Vegetable Man/Scream Thy Last Scream, et cetera.
I hope they don't keep it on a 40-year schedule, as I don't feel like waiting until 2034 for a TDB with single edits and instrumental jams (and La Carerra Panamericana tracks!).

I, for instance, could care less about mono mix!

Give the mono mix a try! I was astounded by the one available in bootleg quality, especially by the mono version of "IO!" It feels like a whole different track!

I agree. I've a mono mix (no idea where it came from but tis beside the point) and it sounds quite different to my ears. I think I might like it better

You obviously don't know what you're missing. I've only heard a bootlegged version, and I feel it to be superior to the stereo mix currently available on CD. The stereo mix is really gimmicky and kind of rushed, where as the mono version sounds more professional in some ways. There are little elements in the mono mix that aren't there in the stereo mix too.

I'm really excited about this release. They're finally realizing that the same old stuff won't cut it anymore; they're finally giving us something we haven't heard before. I hope we can expect the same kind of release for other albums in the coming years.
