So you're saying that he shouldn't be able to live a normal life where he is free to open the door when someone knocks on it and instead has to become a complete and utter recluse to be left alone?

What probably happened is he opened the door not knowing who it was and because they started addressing him he kind of had to respond. You seem to be trying to make the act of opening the door when someone knocks it in to something completely different. It is something you do so does that mean we should be free to film you in the street?

When people say that i tend to assume they have never worked with anyone famous who has therefore not had the pressure of stalkers and enthusiasts coming knocking at the door. Its all very well to reject the press and the fans when you don't get much in the first place
End of the day i reckon Syd just wanted to lead a normal life, hence him doing things like going outside and answering the door. I guess it is the price he has to pay though, for doing some good music 30+ years ago people still hounded him. End of the day the guy didn't bother doing more music or doing interviews for 30+ years so i guess that is a sign enough that he wants to just be a normal person, and for me it is sad that people would try and take the status away from him
Real life story, my brother's friend went to the same pub as Roger. He appparantely recognised him and said 'hey Syd' and he got uncomfortable and left. The rest of the barflys who knew Roger then had a go at this guy telling him that he doesn't like it when people recognise him. Say i'm talking bullshit if you like (as you no doubt will) but for me that was proof enougj. That and the lack of any effort to stay in the spotlight afterwards.
Music industry ruined the guy's life and made sure he couldn't have a normal life afterwards
