Re: Finding A Band Name For The New Project
I am going to compile a reasonable list of about 30 choices and everyone can vote on it. I will leave the voting open for about a week to give everyone a chance to get their choice in.

Re: Finding A Band Name - Cast Your Vote Now - One Week Deadline
OK. The poll is up. It is the top 33 suggestions. I think it is way too much for a poll, but I am trying to avoid people feeling excluded. Everyone gets one vote and one vote only. The poll will be open 7 days from the date of this post, allowing everyone time to make their selection. There will be no vote changes, so if you make a mistake, then that means you have the tools necessary to go to Florida and fuck up another election. Congratulations!
The name with the most votes will be the winner and will be subject to research, mainly to make sure that no one has the name trademarked in any way. If it can't be used then the second to the top vote getter will be it.
The first few names are doubled and stay doubled no matter how I edit the list. I have no desire to try to figure out how to fix it, so please try to vote normally. If both choices of the same name are ticked, I will just add them up. No problem!

Geoff: Would it not be prudent to narrow the selections down to maybe the top 5, then do another round of voting? Just a suggestion.
Why are there so many duplicates in the beginning?

I voted for the one I had offered, and it REALLY is the best 1. Actually, the VERY best is Astral Fire, but I'd like to ask you not to use that name as it's the name of my band . No, I wouldn't sue or something, but I'd like to avoid confusion. So please, you rocking cat that is soooooo cute

Re: Finding A Band Name - Cast Your Vote Now - One Week Deadline
There is some type of bug with the way the list is processed into the poll. No matter what I do, it doubles up the first few names. I have tried to re-do it 3 times and I get the same thing. So I am just gonna let it ride.
.....and yes, narrowing it down to the top five for a final round of voting would be a good idea.....there is plenty of time, but I want to start promoting this as soon as possible, and that involves having a name for the band, so we've gotta have something in the next week or two, so we can have a good couple months of hype leading up to the "official" release. We might even be able to get Myspace Records interested in a limited distribution. This could do really well.

Re: Finding A Band Name - Cast Your Vote Now - One Week Deadline
*BUMP*
Something just dawned on me. The Floyd had a few different names for their group, as well as the individual members having names for the groups they played for before the Floyd. So I figure that if we get into a back story at all, perhaps as part of the interview segments, we can use some of the other suggested names for that purpose. I firmly believe in using as much of the available material on a project that is possible and not throwing anything away too hastily.

Yes I do. They are always looking for original work. You think you would be interested in me mastering it for distribution?mosespa wrote:Ya think myspace records would be interested in Double Core?
