What though the radiance
which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass
of glory in the flower,
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind;
In the primal sympathy
Which having been must ever be;
In the soothing thoughts that spring,
Out of human suffering;
In the faith that looks through death,
In years that bring the
philosophic mind.

With head bowed we exit, in quiet thought of the journey we're taking home; finally home.
We'll miss you ~

It's always a shame when the band members of legendary bands start dying off due to old age, but it's safe to say that they have left their mark for the better.

I remember when I listened to Pink Floyd's albums after "The Wall" and I couldn't get the same "feel" that their past concept albums had.

Then I listened to Wright's Broken China and it was as if I was listening to a modern Pink Floyd album (though a bit soft rock at times).

IMO he was the one who set the eerie mood we're familiar with when it comes to Pink Floyd songs. I mean he helped develop "The Great Gig in the Sky" by playing a group of chords to the band and from there it took off.

Miles Davis was the first jazz artist I got into
and I especially liked his mid to late 50s records, the spooky ballads and the hypnotic modal stuff somehow reminded me of what I got out of my favourite Floyd records
years later I watched the Making of Dark Side DVD and it turned out there was a reason for that: Rickd been sneaking Miles Davis moves into Floyd records, at least that one he explains to us, probably more we'll just have to figure out for ourselves
so thats another thing I got to thank him for, pointing the way to a world of music I might not have discovered otherwise

Thanks Rick for all your magical tunes, You and Pink Floyd fill my life with harmony, all of you became part of my life.

My finest memory of Pink Floyd and you goes to april 20th of 2006 in LA, I won´t ever forget the performance of Echoes made by you and David, what a great night it was.

Thanks for your music.

Rest in peace,
