i am listening to all of the pink floyd material i have and that's a lot. if i didn't have to sleep i would play it 24x7. i can listen to everything over again and hear it differently because i'm consciously listening for every note rick plays. i've heard all of this a million times but tonight it sounds very different

Gonna miss you Rick.

You have finally arrived at that Great Gig in the Sky, and the show is sold out and we can only dream what it sounds like.
It is truely a sad day.

the lyrics to a beautiful Wright-penned song that featured both him on keyboards and vocals and Syd on slide guitar.

Remember a day before today
A day when you were young.
Free to play alone with time
Evening never came.
Sing a song that can't be sung
Without the morning's kiss
Queen - you shall be it if you wish
Look for your king
Why can't we play today?
Why can't we stay that way?
Climb your favorite apple tree
Try to catch the sun
Hide from your little brother's gun
Dream yourself away
Why can't we reach the sun?
Why can't we blow the years away?
Blow away
Blow away
Remember
Remember

Such a sad day in music. It came as a shock to all Pink Floyd fans. Sympathies to family and band members. "Shine on you crazy diamond"

I'm currently listening to Sheep. A lot of Rick's work on this song is mixed into the background. Yet, it would sound empty without his touch. I like to remember him like that - the glue that held the band together.

I'm totally shocked and saddened. Rick was so infuential to the whole Pink Floyd sound. A true gentleman who never let his ego get the better of him. May he rest in peace.
