A sad day for all music lovers and a devastating loss for followers of Floyd. I hope the condolences from around the globe can somehow ease the pain for those closest to this gifted musician.

After not posting in here for a number of years, (since the summer of Live 8 ) I felt I should pay my respects. Rest in Peace Richard. Your contributions to the Floyd and music in general have been unmeasurable. You will be truly, truly missed by millions of people. I hope there really is a Great Gig in the Sky, as you would no doubt be playing there...

Rick, you're about the only person I'd enjoy listening to playing the piano with your elbows.

If we'd never known Rick personally, i think we all knew him a bit, in a way, through his music. It seems we're all better off for having known his musical endeavours.

We really have lost a great musician. Being from his era and listening to their music for so long it just is a great shock. Never even heard he was sick. My prayers go to the family. Goodbye dear friend...

"How was I to know quite so soon
That dreams can turn your life around, it seems
There is no single way to live our days
Between these lines, I know you see a man
Who's not quite sure who he is, or where he stands

Sail on
Sail on, across the sea
Ride the waves, feel the breeze.
Sail on, there's no other way I'd rather be"

Richard Wright (Holiday)

We all knew where you stood my friend.
Your musicianship created and unlocked the Pink Floyd experience.
With you goes a very special key.
The key to the great gig in the sky.

Thank you Richard for sharing your journey.

I was in shock when I heard the news

The first thing I did after was watching Echoes at Earls Court with David Gilmour in 2006.

I am very glad I saw him performe twice, back in 1994 and more recently in 2006.
I will miss the quite man of the floyd.
