Once again the world is a sadder place.

I am so sorrow filled today. I wish I could offer my condolences to Richard's family, particuarly his children.

Rest in peace Richard. Gentleman musician.

I wonder how long he knew about the cancer? You would think with the money he has, he would be getting full health checks every 6 months!! I know I would. :(
Yeah, but there are forms of cancer that come without much if any warning, like lymphatic cancer, which took Joey Ramone in a couple of months, and pancreatic cancer which took Bill Hicks in a couple of months. Pancreatic cancer often doesn't show symptoms until its final stages. Kidney cancer can take you very quick as well...

RIP Richard... you were one of the best of the best...

Maybe it's just the day, and the passing of such a wonderful, yet humble musician, but listening to the songs he wrote for Floyd, and to his album Wet Dream, so many of his works seem embued with such a sense of loss and melancholy. I guess it's just how I feel now. Listening to Pink's Song, and hearing you sing those sad, fragile words, "I must go, be on my way, let me go, I cannot stay...". Farewell Richard...thank you for inspiring me as a musician, thank you for your quiet, understated way, such a rarity in the world of rock, and most of all, thank you for all the wonderful music you made that touched my heart and soul.

Like a bolt of lightning from a clear blue sky. I'm sitting here at work with a smattering of Floyd tracks playing, trying to hold back the tears.

I just feel so... empty.
