From what I've read, there is NO Barrett movie in the works & it's got nothing to do w/ Syd's old mates.
Matter of fact is that Syd's sister didn't want it done because she thought (Like the rest of us!) That the movie would glorify his drug years & not the man as the true visionary /poet/genius/god that he is. Johnny Depp also expressed interest
in doing a movie about him & I heard that was scrapped as well. I hope I'm wrong but to get this done right they need people who KNOW about Syd & not just all the urban legend b.s. we read so much of.
