Dragonflies are pretty kick ass. You get bigish ones called Hawkers that actually patrol territory and get aggressive at humans that stray into it. Crazy.

But not as crazy as those giant ones with a metre wing span that used to inhabit the planet.

Fabulous. A Python fossil the size of a schoolbus was recently discovered in South America, so I can imagine the dragonflies. I just saw a photo of a python that had strangled an alligator. Bloody freak show. Pythons are flourishing in Florida, but they have eight-million alligators to contend with. Why would a human live there? Would you want to move to another planet covered in pythons and alligators? Ridiculous. I love nature, but I can't stand watching nature films anymore. When I was a child, they were all about old men tickling lion cubs, now they are all about cougars ripping open sheep. I can't watch. I'm glad I live in a house. The dragonflies around my pond are spectacular. They are beneficial in that they eat thousands of mosquitos. And beautiful, greens, blues...giant army helicopter ones, lol.

and this is why I love hashish.
