i thought i was the only one with the problem - view active used to bring up about four pages of recently accessed posts and now it shows just the two that Cowards is referring to.

Thanks for the input, smartass. But obviously more would come up than those; this topic, for example, has had more recent posts than those two mentioned, yet is absent from "Active Topics". The clue is the word 'active'.
I turned off quick reply because it is shit and gets in the way and more people don't like it than do. As for the active topics, I just checked and, for some reason, the option per forum to include it in the active topics list is unchecked so I will have to go through all those and change them. I shall do those tomorrow.
As for the avatars, I will put that down to madness.
It is useful for, doh, quick replies that do not need additional editing.
But when it comes to complicated stuff, like adding smilies other than smiles or giggles, adding a link, a color, etc, it's best to use full reply.
Well I guess I will have to go in and change the forum settings on all those forums. Everything except the fun and games forum perhaps to be included in the active topics list?
