Really?? Proof?
@kjek1 - many months ago somebody said they saw Gilmour walk out of a recording studio in France and then it was unleashed, but quickly called into question. It seems to have erupted again. I am not sure it is worthwhile to point you elsewhere, as it has been a I know somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody who said type deal. However, When Polly tweeted a reply to Waters suggesting Gilmour was probably retired (I think it was his press conference for the 2013 Wall tour) that started things up in a major way. She suggested he was not retired. Also, Polly tweeted something about a new song Gilmour performed at a benefit or something a few months ago, I think. Who knows?? But, lots of rumours.
I hope he releases something soon...I imagine it to be something with a bit of OAI influence, and more ethereal. What I can't imagine is the cover of this possible album...what could it be? The cover of OAI fit very nicely with Floyd's artwork, although Storm wasn't even involved.
There is a comment on that page that suggests somebody knows the person who did the plastering in his new studio. Maybe he is simply building a new studio at his beach house. In any event, how could he not play, write and record for his own amusement after all these years?
...what was next on the to-do list (“There’s going to be a new David Gilmour album at some point.” (You heard it here first, folks!)
Hopefully soon!
Thanks for posting, Jambo!
So cool to hear this. I mean, David did let Manzanera say this, it means that he's quite confident with the material he has now.
Hopefully next year. Or maybe this one?

Anyone?
Looking at the way the two of em look at Gilmour on the albert hall dvd i imagine they are camped outside his house in case he needs a couple of old farts to make up the numbers.
