I've been spinning both the 2016 and the 2018 nearly back to back and over and over.
It took a long time for me to really grow to appreciate Animals originally. It's the redheaded stepchild of the fabled four and it wasn't until learning about the Orwellian concept being twisted as indictment of capitalism that it really resonated.
But this mix?
Holy balls, son.
I wouldn't have needed to hear the fables to love it.

Did you notice that we got a little bonustrack on the Blu-Ray-Disc?
If you rip the menu backround music from the disc, you got an almost 17-minute ambient track, which is composed mostly of sounds from "Dogs"

Just listening on some lousy little speakers, but this sounds amazing!
Surely a great addition to the original, muddy 1977 mix.

For example, Waters' expressive vocals.
Details I've never heard before.

I've been saying that the new mix is like hearing on CD for the first time after having listened to it exclusively on 8-track prior.
But...is it just me or is there this weird, low-end flutter during some sections of "Sheep" that seems like it wants to destroy your speakers?

To mark the release of Pink Floyd's Animals 2018 Remix, London's Battersea Power Station will be an eminently suitable canvas next Wednesday and Thursday, between 8:30pm - 11pm, with a sneak preview on Tuesday night at the same time, as a test run...

Where are you finding this? I’ve ripped the BR and I’m only seeing about 5 minutes of background menu musicbloop wrote: Wed Sep 21, 2022 5:25 am Did you notice that we got a little bonustrack on the Blu-Ray-Disc?

"Pict" isn't an axe. It's a kind of person, native to Scotland.

Pict as an axe seemed...wrong to me, but as stated, I had no idea what the hell it was.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for doing that! I'm kind of recently new to podcasts (only started listening to any about three years ago.)
If you guys ever need another "know-it-all" kind of dude, let me know! I look terrible on camera, but I'm told I sound great! lol

Next week we are recording and episode on The In The Flesh? tour.
The week after looks like Top Doom Metal vinyl albums as a chaser with a special guest...won't name names till after it's recorded.
