Just thought of another; Puddle of Mudd, in particular their song 'blurry' (they're playing it on xfm right now)
Really bland corporate rock with some cobain look-alike who sings through his nose.

You can't love the Sex Pistols and the Beatles at the same time (but do not believe me, I'm drunk)

Gotta agree with all of that, especially the last part!ObscuredEchoes wrote:As most of you well know, I HATE Led Zeppelin, Yes, Moody Blues... What you may not know is that I also hate: Steely Dan, Steve Miller, and many others that I'd rather not go into right now... The thing that really bugs me is that these "boy bands" only harmonize...NOBODY plays an instrument...

Yes you can, I do...JML wrote:You can't love the Sex Pistols and the Beatles at the same time (but do not believe me, I'm drunk)
To make a list of all the music I hate would take to long. Just as making a list of all the music I like would take to long. I don't think it has a lot to do with genre... I can't think of any genre that didn't generate some really good music. Although I have to agree on the 'boy-, girlband'-thing, which is horrible imo. But I don't think you can call that a genre, it's more like an 'economically viable format' I guess.

One thing I can say for my own self - I love many many bands, and many of those styles don't react well with each other, but it is all very mood and saturation based. If I haven't listened to something too much (the saturation factor) I will listen to different things at different times based on how I feel. In the car I love some stuff, but sitting in the office working requires a different attitude. You know?

So do I.ganaffe wrote:Yes you can, I do...JML wrote:You can't love the Sex Pistols and the Beatles at the same time (but do not believe me, I'm drunk)
At one time I had an attitude that my musical likes and dislikes were very political, therefore I couldn't like 60s genre/"dinosaur" bands *and* punk simultaneously because the mission of punk was to destroy all of that. However I soon found that attitude to be just as destructive as it denys your passions.
I say just like what you like, if it's good, it's deseving regardless of what side of the musical political spectrum it falls on. It's all music...
