According to Joe Boyd ('White Bicycles - making music in the 1960s', page 136) he played a Pink Floyd demo tape in 1966 for Jac Holzman of Elektra Records.
Did this tape ever see the light of day?

Now I'm intrigued by this...
Was it just Arnold Layne or was it something different?
I'm sure that there is a shit load of Pink Floyd stuff that is extremely hard to find...

Well, I guess the guy is still alive, and according to himself, he is one of the few 'to have been there, and still remembers' when talking about (his) Sixties.
Keith - can't we arrange an interview with Joe Boyd?

We only have 2 recordings from 1966. Interstellar Overdrive from the Andrew King's film "San Francisco" and the version of Interstellar that plays underneath the CBC interview. I imagine the band has more recordings in their archives.

I'm pretty sure one day, they'll get released...
I mean...since Kiss started it...
I imagine the trend will catch on where bands just start releasing demos of all their shit...

Resurrecting an old thread, but I'd guess that the 1966 recording of Interstellar Overdrive that was released as a 12" single on Record Store Day was part of this demo?
