I rather enjoy Learning To Fly, One Slip and On The Turning Away...the rest of it can be tossed out, as far as I'm concerned.
Sorrow bores the SHIT out of me.

Agreed on the Sorrow account. That intro's among my least favourite Pink Floyd moments and then what you get for induring it isn't worth it

Yeah, "Sorrow" is so overblown "Stadium Floyd", especially the intro. It reminds me of "In The Flesh?", except Waters was being ironic with that song. With "Sorrow", it sounds like Gilmour has missed the irony and really means it.David Smith wrote:Agreed on the Sorrow account. Is it just me, or is the melody for "Sorrow" only slightly different from "Yet Another Movie"?

"Stadium Floyd" or whatever...The intro goes right through you at the live concert and your nads shake like maracas.
Re: Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason
"Sorrow" is cool because it begins with Gilmour sounding like "the man" with his guitar

Yes but they insisted it was the same old car with some of the weight removed so it could go faster.Idisaffect wrote:1/5
Something important is missing.
This was manufactured like it was a new car.

4, I don't think it is the worst. I think David Gilmour and the rest of the group didn't achieve the feel I sure they were after. It was more of a statement than a album.
I did like some of the tracks, Sorrow, Learning to Fly and On the Turning Away being examples.

It certainly does....No matter how much one does not like the album, watching it performed live makes you like it at the timeddebil wrote:"Stadium Floyd" or whatever...The intro goes right through you at the live concert

whilst it was in many ways an attempt to recreate the sound of pink floyd after waters left i think there are a few good tracks and i have seen it performed live and i do agree with the comments regarding stadium performances.

Good album all round. Can't see why so many on here disapprove of it. If I want to play any P F this is one I pick the most.

Dude, I actually started booing The Pink Floyd Experience when they started playing the intro to this song. However, I decided to be a grown up and sat back, fully expecting to be bored to death by the song.David Smith wrote:Agreed on the Sorrow account. Imagine my surprise when instead of launching into my least favorite Pink Floyd song, they started playing Have A Cigar (my favorite Pink Floyd song) instead.
Nice whiplash effect, that.
