Site Going Slow
Sorry for the site being slow over the past couple of days. There seems to be some sort of issue with the server. This time I didn't do anything to it!! I cant seem to find what the problem is!! The services.exe service is taking up lots of CPU time hence some other services, like the web server, are falling over. I am still investigating. If anyone has any ideas as to what it could be, then please let me know!

It is indeed. I cant seem to work out what is wrong with it just yet. I suspect denial of service attack as it started all of a sudden and wont stop!!

Re: Site Going Slow
Well, I have to say that some times in these past few days the site was randomly running really smoothly and some times really slow.
Like some powerful search engine absorbed all the energy from it.
Probably some half german half mexican search engine lol

Re: Site Going Slow
I have raised a support ticket with the web host for them to have another look at it. They looked at it once the other week and they said there was nothing wrong in terms of the resource outage issue that I think it causing the site to go down. I attached CPU/Memory usage graphs for them to have a look at. The process list in Windows Server 2003 that the site is running on doesn't show usage at the 90% level where it is at, but the usage graph does in Task Manager and Performance Manager. Piece of shit. I hope they fix it as it is a shame to have the site not working properly. I find it disturbing!!
EDIT: I have noticed a lot of forum account registrations of late with gibberish user names so did a little digging on their IP addresses and turns out they are spammers. I am going to have to keep an eye on new user registrations and ban their whole IP from the server if I suspect they are a spammer. They are not yet confirming their accounts upon successful registration i.e., getting past the CAPTCHA and other measures built into the registration form. Bastards. I think spammers are responsible for hammering the server with new registrations. Feckers. Dirty little feckers. Why wont they just feck off????

Re: Site Going Slow
I haven't noticed the site being slow, but I keep getting logged out (i.e. I have to log in most times when I return). Why is this? It never used to happen. I want my NPF experience to be smooth and uninterrupted by logins and wotnot.

Re: Site Going Slow
I have been doing a little tweaking for the past few hours and things seem to be running reasonably smooth now. Is this the same for everyone NOW within the past 5 minutes or is is just me?
