"Funny" most of the times isn't a word you use when talking about funerals but I think I would call this funny.
A friend of mine who played drums in the band I played in died 2 years ago and on his coffin they put a cymbal. When the coffin was lowered in the grave everybody had the opportunity to throw someting in the grave and I threw a cd of some of our band's recordings. And guess where it landed... Yep with a loud splash on the cymbal. Not really funny but I think he could have laughed about it.

Then drowned in desire, our souls on fire
I lead the way to the funeral pyre
And without a thought of the consequence
I gave in to my decadence
One slip, and down the hole we fall
It seems to take no time at all
A momentary lapse of reason
That binds a life for life
A small regret, you won't forget,
There'll be no sleep in here tonight
I lead the way to the funeral pyre
And without a thought of the consequence
I gave in to my decadence
One slip, and down the hole we fall
It seems to take no time at all
A momentary lapse of reason
That binds a life for life
A small regret, you won't forget,
There'll be no sleep in here tonight

Steve's Fire
Maybe it was the ghost of Jimi Hendrix paying his condolences in his usual guitar-toasting style.

It's in the song 'Rock of Ages' from Def Leppard's Pyromania album too...David Smith wrote:The line came from my my hey hey by Neil Young, Kurt used it in his note that made it a more famous line when associated with Nirvana and then Bonjovi ripped it of in the song These Days
*just listening to a bunch of 80s music a certain 'someone' left in my house...*
I guess I'll need my extra dose of Pink Floyd tonight...
