Hey guys. First post.
I try and recreate famous album tones on youtube and was looking for info on the gear of Syd and co.
Was it the selmer and esquire?
If anyone knows of any details he used on that recording like mics, strings, room type, console, picks, speakers, pickup mods, fuzz pedals etc etc I'd really apreciate it.
I have a Leslie rotary speaker if he used one.
Studio and guitar etc info on Astronomy Domine?

Re: Studio and guitar etc info on Astronomy Domine?
Not sure if I can answer much of that... it is perhaps covered in David Parker's 'Random Precision'
I'd assume the Binson Echorec features, as per live renditions.
I'm sure I can't be the only person to spot that the opening of Astronomy Domine references The Byrd's 'Lear Jet Song' which closes the 5D album. With it's (pseudo) morse code and air/space pilot transmission (provided by Peter Jenner). Inferring that where the Byrds might take you Eight Miles High, Floyd would be a load more adventurous sonic/ spacebound/ deconstructivist mission?
