I've given up on going to large supermarkets, and buy all my food by delivery, a small local fruit and veg shop, and a physically small specialist food supply shop that has adopted a well designed strategy of blocking the door with a table, and doing all purchases over that.
Initially they were asking people who are healthy to not have supermarket home deliveries as people who are vulnerable need them. But, I've noticed that delivery slots are now far more available, and given that in supermarkets I'm being chased around by people who aren't socially distancing and aren't wearing masks, I've stopped.
Completely independent of this post, my partner has just observed teenagers from school walking in large groups mostly not wearing masks.
Given that the number of infections in the UK was rising steadily before this, I wonder what will be happening now.
COVID19

Re: COVID19
I think in a couple of weeks, now that the kids are back in school and the weather is turning keeping people more indoors, the infection rate will increase and there will be more localised lockdowns. Best keep safe with the mask, handwashing and avoiding places where a lot of people are/have been.
I hope the vaccines that are being developed start working soon. They are important. It is fantastic that we have great people who can do this sort of thing at short notice.
Time to stock up on the toilet rolls and hand sanitizer again....

Looks like there will be again more restrictions around the world. We can't stop this virus it's already all around. Plus as I heard some people have it but without any symptoms.

Re: COVID19
I don't approve of tabloids, but I try to keep track of what people are saying in society, and staying in a Guardian / The Independent 'bubble' achieves nothing. So, I read comments in newspapers I wouldn't normally read.
I am concerned about the number of people in certain newspaper comment sections who say that they will have no truck with restrictions to constrain the spread of the virus. And, back it up with what I personally consider to be ... inadequate reasoning. Deaths in the UK are currently very low. If it continued on like that (which some people seem to be assuming) then the virus would not be a huge problem to the UK population as a whole. However, infectious diseases don't work like that. Similarly for those who reject outright ever having a vaccination even if available.
Personally I think that the virus will continue on being a major issue much, much, longer than it should be. The population as a whole is simply not going to do what is necessary.
The way the law is now, it's actually possible for me to retire to New Zealand. Dunno if things may change by then, but for the first time it is starting to look an attractive option. Sorry to UK people for any offence.

Re: COVID19
In the U.S., the restrictions and attitudes are completely different from one county to the next. Near a major city, they expect you to always wear a mask in public. Drive ten minutes away and people are blatantly refusing to comply with the restrictions. Drive another ten minutes and you won't hear or see any acknowledgement that there is or ever was a pandemic. It's probably directly proportionate to the number of local police around; all of the rural areas are handled by state police, and they aren't certainly aren't chasing after people for not wearing masks.

Biden wins election. Maybe he can help us get our ass out of the ditch. Covid and the enviromental problems as well as others need to get fixed. I know he can't fix everything but he has to be better than Trump.
Re: COVID19
Here Summer is really starting to heat up, and people don't give a damn on going outdoors unmasked. This was crazy during new year festivities.
Schools are in Summer vacations currently, and kids go to the beach, with their families unmasked.
Zero politeness and conscience in rows, when you go to a bank, or a supermarket. What's the need to almost start hugging you each public place we go? I thought people would have learned to respect personal physical space at least in a pandemic.
