The songs I'm tired of...

Post by cRaB »

I personally hope David won't play for the 10000000000 time:

- wish you were here
- run like hell
- (may I dare Confortably numb as well?)

You may.

Every live version of that song that I hear makes me appreciate the original that much more.

I'm in complete agreement with you on this list...and I'll go ahead and add "Money" to it as well.

 I'm with you on this one too :)

I can understand why Comfortably Numb etc are popular but really they are played to death. I think there are plenty of other songs David could choose to play on his tour that would make it even more special. As I'm going to see him I think I might be disappointed if he does end up playing them :(

I'm rather tired of Money. I'd like to see Time being played though. I love the guitar solo in that track.

Pretty much the last two PF tour setlists - with a couple of exceptions.

I would hope a focus on solo albums, with select PF songs...Childhood's End instead of Time for instance - definately no CN, Money.

I agree, but I guess this is why he keeps playing them! Hopefully he will revisit an old syd song and some pre darkside song.

I don't think he'll play Time or Money, but Comfortably Numb and Wish You Were Here are almost guaranteed.

I think it'll be similar to the Meltdown gigs, with the best songs from the new album thrown in place of Dimming of The Day, Terrapin, Dominoes etc.

I agree. While beggars shouldn't be choosers, I would like to see him play more obscure stuff, like he did on the Meltdown DVD. Some Syd stuff, or something off of OBC, AHM, etc. But then again, he could get on stage and say, "this next song is called A minor." Then he would get on stage and proceed to play A minor for 5 1/2 minutes. I would be happy with that.

I've purchased his first Album. The only song I remembered from that is "There's No Way Out of Here" (which I hope he plays) and "About Face"
which I've never heard.I'll add the new CD in a month and a half.
Then,I'm guesting he'll do "Fat Old Sun" and a few other Floyd Tunes.

If he did play only one Floyd tune,I say let's hear "Childhood's End"! :o

Well, this is the first time watching Gilmour live. But I already seen his guitar solos on this computer of Comfortably Numb and WYWH. I want to see him play time.

Do you know what would put the icing on this cake (the cake being the concert)? If Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton came in out of nowhere in the middle of the concert and joined Gilmour.

the david gilmour official blog lately launched a poll about the songs fans would like to hear during the tour.
Well...I'm simply horrified about the lack of imagination people have!
I'm horrified when I read:
001. Comfortably Numb
002. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5)
003. Echoes
004. Dogs
005. High Hopes
006. Marooned
007. Fat Old Sun
008. On The Turning Away
009. Murder *
009. There?s No Way Out Of Here *
011. Wish You Were Here
012. Sorrow
Not because of dogs and echoes there (thanks god), but beacuse oh High Hopes, Marooned, On the Turning away, Murder, There's no Way, Sorrow (six songs) reaching the top 12 Floyd/Gilmour Hit parade whishing list!

Yeah Echoes!!!  8) Marooned OK, On The Turning Away and yes There's No Way Out Of Here - I'd love him to play this one too. But basically, give me Echoes and I'm happy.
