Are you sure it's Polly doing all of the lyrics ? :?
I think helping out on one track is fine but to do anymore just isn't right somehow. I think all this "Polly contributing to Davids work" has gone a bit far. She even plays the piano on it too :?

Polly = Rog this time.

But on the other hand...Dave isnt much handy with lyrics...it sounds kinda cheesy that his wife wrote all the lyrics, but who knows...that doesent mean that thats instantly a bad thing.

I mean, she has to make up to Dave with something...you cant get all that money and do nothing instead. Work baby! WORK!!!

David: Before I met Jeanine, my life was cosmically in shambles,
it was ah...I was using bits and pieces of whatever Eastern
philosophies happened to drift through my transom and she
sort of sorted it out for me, straightened it out for me,
gave me a path, you know, a path to follow.
Marty: I wonder if you have as much influence over his musical expression?
Jeanine: Oh, yeah, I mean listen to him when he's experimenting, and
things like that, don't I? He's, he plays things to me,
sometimes when he's worked up, and he's got a new bit he
wants to tell me about, you know, and I say "Yeah, that's good", or
"that's bad", or "that's shit" or whatever, you know.

What I find strange is this: nowhere on that release does it mention that Polly is Dave's wife. She's identified as "the writer Polly etc."

But...but...but...I thought that the reason Gilmour didn't have tons of writing credits on Pink Floyd albums was because Roger hogged them all for himself...

I'm SO disillusioned.

Thank you Polly for saving us from David's dreadful lyrics!!

An example....

No Way (Gilmour)

There's no way
I'm gonna let go
There's no way
Because it's my show
I'm hangin' on
For a little while
I won't go down easy
That's not my style

I'm all tied up
Tied up in a knot
And I can't decide
Just what it is I've got
Did I get out of touch
Did I lose my way
I've not forgot
No, not a single day

Now you might believe
I'm not a happy man
Putting myself apart
From the common clan
What a boat we're sailing
We had a week or two
But I know it sounds
Like me and you

So there's no way
I'm gonna let go
There's no way
Because it's my show
I'm hangin' on
For a little while
I won't go down easy
That's not my style

Bear in mind terrible lyrics can sound very good with the right voice and music...

Yeah, but at least Radio Waves had a framing concept that they were forwarding.

These lyrics are just BAD!!

Are they about a band, or about a love affair?

I'm sorry, there IS a difference between the two.

I'm not about to cuddle with my fellow musicians after we rock!!

Sorry...just ain't happening.

Pigs on the Wing was a love song for Rog's new wife at the time... good lyrics though. I'm not going to write off the song until I hear it.
Crappy lyrics can sound pretty good with the right voice and music.
