New Dark Side DVD

Post by LookingThroughTheKnothole »

This is my first post, so I hope I do it correctly. I was thinking of pre-ordering the new DSotM DVD from England (because I can't wait for it to be released in the U.S.). Does anyone know if the coding on a DVD from England would work in a DVD player here in the states. I'm not sure how coding works, so if anyone has any advice, thank you in advance.

I doubt it strongly, we use Region 2 dvds while you use Region 1. If you have a multi region dvd player then it should work fine, or a dvd drive in your pc may do it to. On most pc dvd drives you should be given the oppurtunity to switch between regions so you should check in to that.

Or finally an alternative if you have an Xbox or PS2 you can get them chipped for a lot cheaper which ables you to play foreign games and watch foreign dvds. Just get it chipped to region 2.

And welcome to the forum.

Let me also point out something that a lot of people don't consider when buying dvds from other regions.
It is not only the zone/region which may prevent you from being able to view a dvd in your country.....you also have to take into consideration what picture format your dvd player and TV supports NTSC or PAL or both.
Region 1 dvds (USA) are usually NTSC and most Region 2 discs (Europe & UK) are PAL.....Region 0 (not region coded) and multizoned discs could be either, depending on where they are made....you need to make sure that your dvd player and TV can handle both PAL & NTSC.
