Obscured by Clouds - vinyl

Post by NewEarthMud »

I recently bought this record, mint condition..absolutely brand new..it sounds amazing.

Listening to it on vinyl reminds me of why it's one of my favorites.

Just thought I'd share that.

I have all Floyd albums on vinyl sans MLOR & DB. I just don't have a means of playing them anymore. Nothing like the "crackle" of vinyl!

Don't forget to get PULSE and Delicate Sound Of Thunder on vinyl to complete your collection, as well.

Vinyl rules! I've got most of my Santana albums on vinyl, because the sound quality of some CD releases is a shame. I also have the Not Now John single and When The Wind Blows soundtrack on vinyl. I'm going to buy Relics on vinyl for the alternative cover.

I still own all my FLOYD vinyl, which includes AHM,DSOTM & WYWH in Quad.

Find it hard to part with the stuff even though I also own it all on CD. Even own DSOTM on SACD.

Try the colour vinyls (AHM, Dark Side, Animals, AMLOR), they are nice and often in mint condition ; a bit expensive, though (and sometimes hard to find).
What I like most with LPs is the object itself (cover and so on) 'cause listening to vinyls is less convenient than listening to CDs (dust is a real problem!!!).
About the obscured by clouds vinyl, I found two different French versions: the cover of the first is glossy, the second one isn't. I don't understand because they have the same label and number. What's more, I haven't seen the former somewhere else before (and after!) and it isn't mentioned in any database on Internet. It might be a forgery, I think.

What cover does it have? The original covers had a textured finish with rounded corners, and if you have that cover it is truley a good find.
