You would never guess it's the Floyd.

"ABITW part 2" - the children choir doesn't sound very Floydish; and that Boney M. disco rhythm underneath it...

And what's exactly wrong with that song?
I agree that MLOR and DB don't sound like Pink Floyd, but it doesn't mean that they have to be bad albums. Well, MLOR perhaps is not particulary good :? but I like the Division Bell. And I also like Take it back.
It doesn't sound like pink floyd.
But the wall and the final cut aren't that floydish either... It's just what you think is 'the pink floyd sound'. I personally think everything done by waters, gilmour or wright has something like pink floyd, it's all easily recognisable.

I'm gonna say Nile. And maybe It Would be so Nice.

But what about 'Stay'? It's nearly a ballad! Very un-Floydian, IMO...

Parts of THE FINAL CUT are very un-floydian. That's not to say they aren't good, just that they are a departure for the band.

Yeah, The Trial! - by the way, I love the Nile song; its an essential thread of Floyd that pops up on Obscured by Clouds (The Gold...) and again on the Wall (Young Lust); these are Gilmour rockers that should have been played live for fun 8)

Most Uncharacteristic song?

Post by [email protected] »

I think "Young Lust", from The Wall and "Take it back" from MLOR.
Young lust just sounds a little poppy to me aye...and take it back is a little different aswell.
Dont get me wrong they are awesome, but they're just a little different...... although the wall was different, so can you really call them uncharacteristic?????
