Just purchased The Final Cut
being a relatively new pink floyd .. i bought the final cut today.. and i have to say on the first listen i think its the most beautiful and emotional album ive ever heard, to me its like a polished version of the wall, there are moments on the album when i completely ignore everything im doing and just focus on the words and music spoken by the genius roger waters, i really dont understand why some people think this is the worst PF album... this is without a doubt the last greatest pink floyd album.

It has more Floyd members input than MLORJack Dempsey wrote:In my opinion i don't think you can call it a PF album for very obvious reasons which a blind man could see.
I think its a floyd and very good one. I thought I would never say this but Axl Rose has very good taste. Ive never thought he would see the wisdom in Final Cut.
I admit that the album can be a real dire.

It's an alright album, but not a spot on some of their earlier works, like Meddle (One of These Days and Echoes...ahhhh...) and MLOR and Division Bell still stand up. It IS a Roger Waters solo project as well, and it shows in stuff like Marooned (DB) when they reverted to their old style. The one thing that would really help would be if they ahd used a few different melodies writing it. Still, not as bad as Pros and Cons I suppose...

Of all the albums I haven't bought yet, the Final Cut is the one I'm still pondering about, wether I should get it or not.
I read that if you think The Wall was too 'commercial' or 'shallow', then this is the perfect album for you, and that it was an emotional draining experience.
So that makes me think...do i really want it under those conditions?
I mean, though i liked the Wall very much, it always makes me feel miserable after hearing it...
