I have been wondering this for a while. Do more musicians appreciate the music of Pink Floyd, or does Pink Floyd's music appeal to everyone regardless?
It would be interesting to see what kind of instruments Pink Floyd fans play. Singing counts! I'll start myself, I've played violin for 10 years now. I also play viola and some keyboard, but not very well.
I play trumpet for eight years now. A month ago I started with a guitar. I already can play some 'simple' Floyd-songs like Mother and Grantchesters Meadows. I'm looking for an electric guitar now.
I play piano -- got grade 7 (UK standards) so I could teach if I chose -- which I would do free of charge of course - since I don't believe it should be whored.
No. I wanted to take clarinet in 4th grade, mom said no. I tried to learn piano a couple times in my life, hated it both times. I tried to teach myself guitar and couldn't. A musician I was not meant to be. So I became a visual artist and fan instead.

'here we are with our running and confusion
and i don't see no confusion anywhere
and if the world does turn
and if london burns i'll be standing on the beach with my guitar
i wanna be in a band when i get to heaven
anyone can play guitar
and they won't be a nothing anymore'
Radiohead, 'Anyone can play guitar' ..
Although 'Anyone can play the guitar badly' would be nearer the mark!
I play drums in my band, The Blue Monkeys (http://www.thebluemonkeys.co.uk) but piano/keyboards are my primary instrument. I also play guitar and do a spot of singing now and then but not too well as you can hear on my rendition of flaming and my own drifting away on my bands website in the mp3 section.

Did you do the art for your avatar? It's very nice!
Thanks! Yes, they're all mine...the continuously ever-changing avatars.
Actually, when I say I don't play an instrument that is true and I am not a musician, but I've been experimenting with sound just within the past few weeks via some software, Artmatic, that animates visual and sound waveforms. http://www.uisoftware.com/ It's a very interesting process of layering sounds over eachother, like washes and glazes of color, taking a section of a sound file (in QuickTime Pro) and stretching it out and layering it over itself. Nothing too advanced, though....I'm no Eno (and anyway, he doesn't even like the digital format from what I've heard). Do those quicktime files ever eat up hard drive space, though!

I don't play an instrument (you don't know how tempted i am to tell a dirty joke now) because simply i can't be bothered taking years to get good at something i'm neer going to make money out of using. Call me the ultimate capitalist but i just don't see the need.
