Sunday, November 26, I finished a pack of cigarettes and decided I was too lazy to go buy another pack.
Aside from one cigarette that I bummed from a friend at a bar the following Friday, I've not smoked since.
Keith, perhaps you and I should form a support group.

Yes, a support group sounds good! I propose we spend the money we save on cigarettes on more alcohol!! It only seems fair!!
1st Dec and counting!!!!! OMGOMGOMG!! Tomorrow will be the test when I go out to watch my mates band in Liverpool and everyone will be smoking.... except me because I DON'T SMOKE! I AM A NON-SMOKER!

Re: smoking,,....anybody tried to give up?
I quit every friday on the way to the pub .... then after 2 pints i am smoking again ...
i dont smoke during the week .. or i should say when i havent got a drink in my hand
so i smoke about twice a week like a twat !!! i smoke roll ups aswell .. cos i used to smoke cigs years ago then i stopped and just smoked weed like a chimney then about 3 year ago i stopped smokin weed... so now i just smoke the roll ups when i have a pint or 15
i think the actual making of the cig is half of the addiction, (through smokin about 20 joints a day for years)
i didnt buy any the other week on pupose to see what i'd do, it just made it worse knowing i didnt have any if i needed it .. i ended up smokin about 10 cigs of my mates and my throat was a bit rasp the day after
I WILL GIVE UP

Congrats! I to am a non smoker except when I drink bourbon. I don't drink much so I don't smoke much. At my age I really need to take care of myself.
I encourage anyone who is currently smoking to quit now. Not only is it wrecking your health but the cost of it has gone past ridiculous to insane.

Re: smoking,,....anybody tried to give up?
I once quit smoking for 9 months.
I had a bet with my soon to be mrs. Damn!t. She whas at uni then.
So I promised that I'll quit if she'll pass a taugh anorganic chemistry exam.
...of course...she passed... and with the highest grade if i remember.
So I quit smoking...
...anyway, by the end of that 9 months, I whas ready for a mental institution becouse my body whas finishing that first detox process and I really felt like mr. Hyde whas gonna burst any second out of me.
I whas really loosing my mind.
...so I started again. And I'll never again gonna make that kind of bet...thats for sure.

Well done to y'all who've given up and are trying to stay off. I've got crap asthmatic lungs so I never started in the first place but it's great to see people making the effort.

I had real problems giving up, so I read a book called "Giving Up Giving Up".
It worked a treat and now I smoke like a good 'un!

Re: smoking,,....anybody tried to give up?
I once quit smoking for a whole year. I can't remember how on Earth I managed to do that, but I know by the end of that year I got fat as a pig. Then I started smoking again and lost about 25 kg in a couple of months. Now I'm fine with my 75.
