That's pretty well par for the course with any 'new' Floyd releases isn't it?mosespa wrote:Finally got it sent off, too...just a couple of months later than I was expecting to.

Ideally?
Any aforementioned outtakes that might have been omitted due to vinyl's limitations. Issue it as a limited 4 cd box set including the original demos. Or, if this is too extravagant, a three cd set with a third cd of alternate takes, outtakes, and a demo or two would be ideal.
Treat it as the historic release that it is. As a work of art, it deserves more than another glorified repackaging.

He needs to mark the 30th anniversary with a huge live performance of The Wall like he did in Berlin.
The Wall, or PF, wasnt as "cool" back then as it is now. Plus, back then, a lot of people didnt realize that Waters is Pink. Now, thanks to Live 8, more people know the truth.
Plus, with the better technology of today, he could do a massive show...live before pay per view or something and get real "living legends" to be part of the show.
Imagine the possibilities: Elton John doing stuff, Paul McCartney getting in on the stuff, Beyonce doing Thin Ice, some hot babe doing Mother along with Waters.
It would rule.
That would rule.
Would the stage be big enough for their egos?

I wouldn't let Beyonce near a Pink Floyd song either - she'd murdlerise it.

Of course Roger's "Pink."
But, Gilmour, Mason and Wright are "Floyd."

Berlin 1990 is bad enough we dont need tTe Wall getting ruined with the likes of Beyonce Westlife Macca etc. I think Macca would try and sneak in Hey Jude while he is on stage as his ego is just as big as Waters.Yucateco wrote:Words cannot describe how much that would suckkitkat wrote: Imagine the possibilities: Elton John doing stuff, Paul McCartney getting in on the stuff, Beyonce doing Thin Ice, some hot babe doing Mother along with Waters.

Every time you hear the original studio version of that song, you also hear Sir Paul say "fucking hell" somewhere during the final "so let it out and let it in."

That'd be John, actually.
I dunno, a Wall In Berlin: 20th Anniversary Edition would be kind of fun. I had this idea in my head that he could keep Thomas Dolby as the Schoolmaster (whose idea WAS that, anyhow; I'm a huge Dolby fan, but what a weird matchup), use Rihanna as the Mother, Regina Spektor as David Gilmour, throw in Zach de la Rocha during Run Like Hell and Waiting For The Worms, and actually just go ahead and replace all of his own remaining parts with Suggs. And throw in Tina Weymouth on bass.
I'd pay good money to see that.
