Syd Barrett died three years ago today. It doesn't seem that long ago does it?
First article on NPF about his death.
I bet all the papers are too busy going on about Michael Jackson too much to remember poor old Syd.

Yeah, but the histeria ends today, I think.
I remember when I heard the news on the TV, wondering if the anchor man would even ever listen anything Syd had written.
Three years, but for me it's like yesterday.

...strange how fast time goes by. It's a little hard to believe it's been that long.
Rest in peace man, you gave us something that changed the world... yet the revolution will not be televised... *salute*

Re: Syd Barrett died three years ago today...
I miss him.
I "collected" these about thirty years ago (that's when I was first allowed to drive and could go and get them!)
In case anyone doubts his place in the history of Rock and Roll (the only real course music could have taken), please note this from Wikipedia:
"For comparison purposes, their first LP (The Grateful Dead, Warner Brothers, 1967), was released in the same year that Pink Floyd released The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."
This is from an article about The Dead! The link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grateful_Dead
Get it? He is as original as anyone else in the entire rock universe! Each of the three albums identified in the article is the beginning of a straight, bright, unbroken line to the very pinnacle of Psychedelic Rock.

Three years, already?
Time seems to just be zipping by these days.

It is sad. And Rick's anniversary only has a few months to go.

I'm doing a small show tonight and will perform a tribute song. Which I am to write yet.

Listen to Good In Black And White, especially the first verse (where, for example, one line says "it's gone under my skin"), - pretty Syd-esque, only a bit modern.
