Lovespirals Floyd-Influenced Song & Remixes

Post by missbee »

Heya! I know its been ages since I posted, I even got a reminder email from Keith asking me to come back to the forum. :(

I dunno if you even remember my band, Lovespirals? We did covers of "Cymbaline" and "Welcome to the Machine" for the comps a few years back. Good times! Anyway, we released a new album earlier this year called, 'Future Past.' Its definitely our most Floyd and Gilmour influenced work to date, especially the instrumental, "Meanwhile, Irreplaceable Time Flees." You can check out every track in full over on our Bandcamp page, if you're curious: http://lovespirals.bandcamp.com/album/future-past

Anyway, the reason I'm writing is that Sony ACIDplanet is holding a remix competition for our song "Feel So Good," which was musically inspired by what we refer to as "The Pink Floyd Jam." You know, that funky groove the boys tended to gravitate to over the years? I was also inspired in my backing vocals by the treatments used on 'Dark Side of the Moon.'

I was checking out some of the remixes today and a fellow by the name of Jack Ketch had uploaded one called, "Peckaries Part 1, 2, and 3: A Floyd Tribute." You absolutely need to check out this fun remix that mashes up a number of classic Floyd jams with our song and ends with a smoking solo played by Mr. Ketch. There's just a slight touch of my vocals; its really an instrumental inspired by our song. I think you'll get a kick out of it! http://www.acidplanet.com/Artist.asp?PID=1379015&t=8080

Oh and if any of you would like to take a crack at remixing "Feel So Good," well I'd love to hear your mix!!! 29 days left in the contest: http://www.acidplanet.com/contests/lovespirals
