I cannot stand Gillian. He had that horrific high vibrato scream that sounded like a fire alarm. His onstage banter is lame and makes me sick. Mk 2 Purple was a bloated wankfest at the best of times and wrote about 6 good songs the whole duration.

You're not wrong. Queen's Jazz album was described by one reviewer as "fascist" due to the hold the band had over its audience. If Freddie Mercury had wanted to make large numbers of people do evil things as a group, I'm sure he could have done. Instead he made them do things like all clap in time to 'Radio Gaga' and copy his vocal lines like this:PublicImage wrote: Adolf Hitler!

But he had massive following! Some have spotted semen bursts out of his pants! How cool is that!?olzen wrote:Are you kidding me? His songs were shit!PublicImage wrote:Adolf Hitler!
He had voice - one could hear him from a mile's distance!
People pay huge money to perform in White House once. He'd perform in Bundestag for free every now and then!
And he only killed himself and his dog because of Russian Stalin fans and "pirates".
(I'm not kidding, they say he really did ejaculate).

Re: Who has been the greatest frontman ever?
I prefer to just leave the above messy details to Mooms imagination
Mick Jagger defined the role in rocknroll as we know it to the extent the rest of the Stones just stand expressionless in the shadows while he rules the stage
but there had been frontmen in bands doing the same moves decades before there was rocknroll
lets all watch Cab Calloway in 1933 (from the WC Fields film International House)

Have you attended your history class at school? What I did was take the real history and turn it into his music career. I didn't imagine anything but real history as music career.PooF wrote:Do you really expect us to swallow that?moom wrote: But he had massive following! Both Framed and Next are worth starting with. Those are the two that set me off listening to them back in the 70's.czgibson wrote:I've been intrigued for a long time but never indulged. What's the best SAHB album to start with?my breakfast. wrote:Fuck yas all. Alex Harvey all the way.
