The third and final Immersion edition of Pink Floyd studio albums that were announced as part of the Why Pink Floyd back catalogue re-release campaign has now seen light of day.
Looking at the Big Pink Floyd Survey that NPF did a while back, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall were all in the top 5 fans favourtie albums. But so were Animals and Meddle. Animals was rated almost equally as The Wall!

I voted for The Final Cut, because that record means a lot to me. I would love to get more material about it.

I would love a mammoth Relics to cover 1966-1970, which would just be non-album tracks from the period and as much live film/tv stuff as possible.

ANIMALS! Has to be! I've heard there is pro shot live footage that has never seen the light of day, and they could put all Roger's fireworks rants on it too

I would go for UmmaGumma, provided it had the complete live material (including Interstellar Overdrive) and The Man and The Journey.
Otherwise PatGoD / ASoS together with BBC material from that time.

It just has to be Animals! Superb album and the best use of a vocoder ever!

I did think of that album, maybe a version that's got all the different tracklistings on one album (Australia having "Crumbling Land" and other ZP tracks) but in the end I went for Atom Heart Mother. Mainly for the visual stuff that hasn't been seen for years.nosaj wrote:I would love a mammoth Relics to cover 1966-1970, which would just be non-album tracks from the period and as much live film/tv stuff as possible.

Meddle. Didn't they spend hours in the studio noodling about? So that would be interesting to hear anything from that, even maybe the moment Rick created the blip. Also Brain damage originated around this time which would be intersting to hear. They could pad it out with some live recordings like the ones of Echoes when it was still called Son of nothing or w/e it was called and had the lyrics about planet's aligning themselves. It seems to me the Meddle era is relatively obscure altogether.

More than a just one album immersion box I would actually prefer either an early Barrett years boxset or a 69-72 rarities/live/outtakes boxset that covered all the unreleased studio stuff from that period plus a few discs with a couple of important live shows on audio, like The Man And The Journey and some other good show representative of that era setlist (or a disc with live highlights could be too) and a DVD with live video with things like St. Tropez, KQED, etc... If people want the studio albums they can get it separately or in the Discovery box, so there's no need for including them on this box too. The BBC sessions could be released separately too, as a standalone 2CD or 3CD release.
But of course that's never going to happen.

Meddle or Ummagumma as well for me. But if there is another, I suspect it will be Animals, as the band is not too fond of any of their pre-DSOTM stuff.
