What would George V's reaction have been when Hitler came to power?nosaj wrote:The Queen is German!! "The British royal family changed their last name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor in 1917. Why? World War One broke out in 1914 and anti-German sentiment was its height in 1917. In protest, King George V renounced all the German titles belonging to him and his family and adopted the name of his castle, Windsor."

Cymbaline was a King from Britain. I'd always assumed it was a Queen from Greece for some reason.

Lovely, yes. The "nightmare" part of the song always struck me as a cheesy attempt at horror, though.rosm wrote:I am still convinced it is a lovely Pink Floyd song.
Just imagine if Floyd had done an entire album of Norse/Celtic/Saxon stuff!

Louis Armstrong has an evangelical obsesssion with losing weight by using laxatives and to spread the word he appeared in humorous, albeit risqué, cards that he had printed to send out to friends; the cards bore a picture of him sitting on a toilet—as viewed through a keyhole—with the slogan "Satch says, 'Leave it all behind ya!'"
Actually I learnt that yesterday but forgot about it. I've just found it on my scrap word doc where I post things for later multiple usage.

There's an app that helps offices organise tea making chores fairly!
"Another app to make both our iOS and Android roundups this week, the UK Tea Council's new app aims to solve office tea-making disputes. It creates "tea groups", stores everyone's cuppa preferences, and then at pre-determined intervals picks a colleague at random to make the next round."
