That's a serious (to some extent) question - please answer accordingly.

No.
I'v seen that footage millons of times, even done a bootleg of some sort - bbc2 radio sound and live 8 dvd video combination... spent quite alot of time editing it and all I can say is no.

I think that it would have been better with lip sync... Let's face it, Roger had dreadful vocals during the Live 8 especially singing Wish You Were Here, it was awful compared to Gilmour's voice. So I can't believe it was lip synced or anything, he sound a thousand times better during his actual tour where he probably use some playback.

His voice on Every Stranger's Eyes in 02 was spot on

I believe you, thanks. I was asking because I watched this https://youtu.be/w6_BrJkOZTE?t=244 and thought that it sounded quite like the actual live performance and the "Walk on part in a war" bit sounded like the audio and video didn't quite match up. Anyway, nice to have that one cleared upDamn!t wrote:No.

Might be just me but I find he sound better during the rehearsals... It looks like he is trying to do more during the show and it doesn't necessarily works.

I'd hope not seeing as he didn't exactly sound good during Wish You Were Here.
He definitely didn't though, he sang Comfortably Numb perfectly, Wish you were here is a no no for him though.

No but I think he did during The Wall tour. That's a whole other thread though

If he did, it was a pretty bad job of it.

I was thinking about this: Waters sounded way better in 2010-2013 than during this gig, allegedly using some playback. Gilmour stated that Live8 was a proof that he couldn't work with Waters again
Is it possible that playback itself was a source of conflicts between both? In the sense, Roger wanted it for his part and the rest of Pink Floyd said ''no way''?

Allegedly there was a rift between the two about which songs they were going to play. Apparently Roger insisted on playing some songs other than the ones the rest of the band wanted to play and started acting bossy so Gilmour had to put him back in his place.Follix wrote:Gilmour stated that Live8 was a proof that he couldn't work with Waters again

I'm sure I read somewhere that he wanted to play In The Flesh, and something from Amused to Death.
If that's right, I'm not surprised David flipped his lid.

He wanted to play ''Another Brick'' also, Gilmour didn't think the lyrics were appropriate for the event, and I really doubt he like this song since he never did it solo while he did other Waters songs like ''Money''

This year was the first time has has played Money since 94 it was not played at all in 2006. He has only played Brick 2 once since 94Follix wrote:He wanted to play ''Another Brick'' also, Gilmour didn't think the lyrics were appropriate for the event, and I really doubt he like this song since he never did it solo while he did other Waters songs like ''Money''
