I know it's being discussed in the main thread already but I think this deserves special notice. Paul has absolutely hit the mark with his comments about the Super Deluxe Box. It's enjoyable to read, even if the cause isn't anything to laugh about. What was Roger thinking?

Some of the comments are hilarious too...
"That Super Deluxe Edition price has made me feel uncomfortably numb."

Well, maybe he wanted to make some money? No, wait, he is the only ex member of a certain group that has a vision. The other guys are the money munchersDarkSideFreak wrote:I know it's being discussed in the main thread already but I think this deserves special notice. From the Water's website: "Only available in this package, the brand new score by Roger Waters".
This seems to be the main selling point of the SDE (...worth $500...), but score to what? Any idea what this is?

Read the comments for some better perspective on this. Buying the Blurays, CDs and LPs on their own doesn't add to nearly the amount that he is charging for this thing. Certainly this could have been done at a much more reasonable level. Who spends that amount of money on basically one album anyway?brell wrote:Well, maybe he wanted to make some money? $500 up front and it weighs 25lbs !! How much is postage/customs etc going to cost for that if it's being posted from The U.S.A. !! Sorry, I collect & have a lot of Floyd stuff, but THAT is just ridiculous pricing !!

If that was the case, he shouldn't include an exclusive blu-ray in this inflated monstrosity. Make all the main content available separately and I'd concur with your comment. As it stands, stupid marketing.Wolfpack wrote:Well, you don't have to buy it. Blah blah blah...

I was being sarcastic.
Hopefully, this expensive pricing will never happen to a Barrett release.

I think the question is more whether there will be any more Barrett releases...Wolfpack wrote:I was being sarcastic.

And yesterday, Pink Floyd suddenly did just that.Wolfpack wrote:Hopefully, this expensive pricing will never happen to a Barrett release.
A new release containing unheard recordings with Barrett,
extremely limited and, as a result, very expensive to buy if you manage to find a copy.
