Acclaimed Pink Floyd member Roger Waters recently spoke to the Global Consortium for Sustainable Peace in a new YouTube interview to discuss a bunch of topics.
Interviewer: It seems to me on Facebook and other places I see a lot of work going on Pink Floyd like albums, editing – is there new stuff coming out? Redone stuff on Pink Floyd albums talking place?
Roger Waters: You know, the people who are constantly trying to resell the same thing over and over again, which I disapprove of heartily.

Like redoing The Wall in over 200 concerts? And playing 40+year-old Floyd songs live in 150+ concerts during Us+Them tour?space triangle wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 2:07 pm... people who are constantly trying to resell the same thing over and over again....
What a horrible thing to do, reselling that old stuff over and over again.

But still, live is live.
Going on the live tours requires a some plan and effort. As opposed to merely reissuing old material over and over again. But yeah. both Dave and Rog have every right to do as they want.

https://youtu.be/3hrN3fp3mSg if that didn't embed. Roger plays Bass about 3.17 in.
Minutes and footage of the Meeting To Make Things Nicer committee as yet unreleased, but here's Roger's guest spot at a Ginger Baker tribute concert.

And time to record canned vocals to mime to!space triangle wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 7:24 amYou are somewhat right.Niebla de Fuego wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 11:06 pm Like redoing The Wall in over 200 concerts? And playing 40+year-old Floyd songs live in 150+ concerts during Us+Them tour?

If the reference is aimed at The Later Years, what about the care that went into editing Delicate Sound of Thunder?

Frankly speaking i prefer to listen Roger Waters miming and lip synching-pre recorded vocals, than to listen Drake or Bruno Mars or whatever of these new 'stars' signing normal.

David Gilmour's 'Rattle That Lock Tour' was a lite version of the 'On an Island Tour' just rejigged to fit his new solo songs in.

And his DSotM tour was very close to the same set list as his In the Flesh tour a few years earlier, with a couple songs dropped to fit the rest of DSotM in, just as the Floyd did for part of their '94 tour (and they even invited Roger to join them for one of the shows). His In the Flesh tour actually ended in 2000, but he got divorced the following year, so in 2002 he started it back up to cover any countries he'd missed.
Gilmour won't tour without a new album (the About Face tour only featured three Floyd songs), and he generally plays all of the new album, at least one song by Syd to keep money flowing to the Barrett family, and a few classics that people need to hear lest they start a riot. Roger has spent most of the last twenty years touring, and when he finally did put out a new album, he rarely played more than four songs from it. During his KAOS tour, he dropped almost all of Pros and Cons due to popular demand (or lack thereof), but also tried to avoid playing anything co-written by Gilmour (interesting that he did do "Great Gig in the Sky", however).
What's particularly entertaining about Rog's insistence these days that everything be note-for-note perfect, night after night, is the fact that while the setlist of his (very brief) tour with Eric Clapton was interesting, the songs sounded very different from the originals. Even "The Gunner's Dream", which was only a year old at the time, got revamped with another Clapton guitar solo (which were getting so much applause that Roger got pissed, announced "The GREAT Eric Clapton!", threw his bass on the ground and stormed off stage).
