Anybody got plans to visit one of the 29 venues announced so far (out of the planned 100 venues) showing the Dark Side of the Moon planetarium show this year?
Is this a new show or has it been going on for years?

Re: Pink Floyd Planetarium Shows 2023
I was at the Ray Harryhausen awards in Edinburgh last Thursday evening and got talking to a guy from the Glasgow Planetarium and he indicated it was a new show ie NOT the one I saw in New Zealand at their planetarium in 2012.
.
Just booked for Winchester on 26th August

I wasn't aware of this and live within walking distance of the Space Centre in Leicester. Hmmm...

Doesn't seem like they much care about St. Louis, home of the oldest rock station in the USA that still plays Pink Floyd at least 20 times a day. =/

Send them an e-mail [ [email protected] ] and suggest they add the Pink Floyd show to their future schedule.

In fairness, we get two or three Pink Floyd laser light shows each year.twcc wrote: ↑Thu Aug 03, 2023 7:23 pmSend them an e-mail [ [email protected] ] and suggest they add the Pink Floyd show to their future schedule.

Re: Pink Floyd Planetarium Shows 2023
Back home from Winchester.
Visuals are good, the hemispherical image inside the dome is bright and seamless and very well engineered. There are stock planetarium images plus quite a lot of aquarium stuff which seems a little odd at times. The 2023 version includes Soyuz and the ISS, some rendered and some wire frame. The clock with its internals in 'Time' is very good. To bring the previous footage up to date we have stylistic laptops and a rendered Saturn V but we retain the 10-pence coins and Concorde in 'Money' even if some of the footage is shown in reverse!; the visuals are good and I can accept the oddities. However, the biggest gripe and this may be limited to Winchester is the sound is 3.1 and I would have expected 5.1 as a minimum.
Overall, I preferred the 2012 show but still worth the journey and experience.
