Goodbye max, goodbye ma - off to the service when you're walking slowly to the car.. and the silver in her hair shines in the cold november air. You hear the tolling bell and touch the silk in her lapel.Feeling Very Pink wrote:By the time it reaches the 'Goodbye Max...' line I'm in tears. Not Now Neil wrote:1 - The Gunners Dream

Definitely one of the most underated albums of all time and a great historical turning point. The fans that came to the floyd to listen to a more "commercial" floyd were a bit shocked at the rawness of TFC and it new approach to concept albums or something... I am just rambling. Somebody take over....Not Now Neil wrote:Goodbye max, goodbye ma - off to the service when you're walking slowly to the car.. and the silver in her hair shines in the cold november air. When you say raw, do you mean emotionally raw? The production is certainly very sharp and direct! (My favourite album for production, ever, by anyone, by the way!)Keith Jordan wrote:Definitely one of the most underated albums of all time and a great historical turning point. Yeah, fantasically produced album that one...
Also RW's PaCoHH in the same way.
You also can see how DB and MLOR try to follow in those footsteps, but slightly faulter. It is quite clear they are trying, where you don't hear trying in most stuff with Roger...meaning
It is craziness, not just trying to sound like craziness.
But I still love that big ole Dave.
