Somethings are universal

Post by Douge »

I found this on a spanish-language Pink Floyd board.

Even I could understand it.

"Waters contra Gilmour

waters es un genio
gilmour un virtuso"

I guess their board hasn't instituted a policy on this particular topic yet! 8)

Question is, would you rather be a genie or a virtuso?

"Waters contra Gilmour

waters es un genio
gilmour un virtuso"

Translation:

"Waters vs. Gilmour
Waters is a genius
Gilmour is a virtuoso"

In my opinion, the one who wrote it is in the right. Waters is a genius as a composer, and Gilmour is a virtuoso playing guitar, but it doesn't mean that Waters isn't a virtuoso and Gilmour isn't a genius  . (Anyone understands what I wrote?)

Which Spanish forum is that? I want to see it!

Cheers!

It's from here:

http://pf.at4.net/

make sure you don't ask to have the site translated to English, otherwise you can't get the message board.

If only they had different charachters... Waters was a crap as a bass player (just listen to any PF live thing with Waters on bass), but he was indeed a lyrical genious. THE GREAT ONE! Because of his lyrics, the albums such as DSOTM, WYWH, The Wall and Animals became classics. Opposed to Waters, Gilmour was better as a guitar player, he was a multi instrumentalist (guitar, keyboards, drums, bass, slide, harmonica...), but his lyrics were idealess - he didn't know how to tell a story (both Childhood's End and Time ended with a weary words ''so this is how the song will end (CE) / the song is over (Time)''. But, one thing I would like to point out, the genious and virtuoso is Syd Barrett.

Crofloyd, I thought it was pretty obvious that Roger Waters wrote the lyrics of The Dark Side Of The Moon? :?
