That masterpiece Fifty Shades of Grey book is an overhyped baggage of rubbish! It's a horribly disguised fanfiction of the already terrible Twilight series and it's structurally so, so poor that even a third grader could write better. The same words over and over and over again, my gosh! It's hyped by both the bandwagon who loves steamy (which rather comes out like vapour bubbles) cliches or by all the protesting battalions of moms who say it's porn. Matter of fact, it's horrible overwritten below par prose.

And don't get me started on the erotica- oh man, I get more turned on by a fly compared to this!

I hate the high-minded way some people talk about musicians and seem to have to see them as being moral exemplars and utterly rectitudal. For e.g on a Beatle fan site just now I read this gem 'No doubt John always had immense respect for Bob (Dylan) as a songwriter... probably second only to his respect for Paul. His parody is a measure of that respect, I would say.' WTF!!! He probably did respect albeit unimmensly some of Macca's songs but it's so bloody irritating to read ridiculously high-minded people like that poster posting things like that as though they've never read anything about John loathing quite a fair few of Paul's songs. He even tried to sabotage some of them or just refused to play on them altogether. He used to call a lot of Paul's music 'granny shit'. He also ended up hating Dylan and being mightily peeved about Norwegian Wood being parodied on Blonde on blonde.

erm The Beatles are my fav. band! Sometimes I toy with giving that accolade to Pink Floyd or R.E.M because I only like the last 2/3 of the Beatles recorded output and hate having to say I'm a Beatle fan because I can't stand the early stuff like IWTHYH & SLY etc but never do because I love most* of the last 2/3 of the Beatles recorded output so much. So I don't hate the Beatles. What I hate is the way some fans attribute excessive rectitude and highmindedness to the people they idolize because they want them to be moral exemplars probably because they think they are moral people themselves or think morality isn't a total load of fucking hypocritical bullshit like I do.

People who call people who've got Mac's 'fucking twats' and then somehow end up being respected while someone who tries not to be abusive isn't. Life's all about trying to work out how to rub along which basically means coming out with pretty much anykinda bullshit to make yourself look good. It's a lesson I'm going to take great delight in learning. Fuck it! Why the hell should I care what the fuck happens in the world. I'm youngish free and soon going to be over my problems so I can just do what I want and enjoy myself free of all the responsiblities and shit that other people have. From now on I'm going to come across like the nicest person in the world...online irl...everywhere and then use my new found sense of social niceties to my advantage.

Now back to things that really annoy me....

It annoys me when things like Chiropracy are accepted as (expensive) medical methodology but they are infact psuedo-science. Chiropracy *may* have some benefit when carried out on the lower spine, but the ideology behind it is garbage, the education required to start cracking away is bullshit and it is just another example of bullshit creeping in where sound logic would be prefered (see also homeopathy only because my highschool maths tutor, and the most otherwise rational person in the world, use to dose her kids with woo homeopathic solutions depending on the colour of the stuff coming out their noses).

Statistics could well be another psuedoscience as it is easy to fudge results big style with stats. For example, if I don't like the results from a certain statistical analysis, I could use an equally valid statistical method to get better results. Lets say a Student's T test shits all over my data and suggests they are not significantly correlated... well lets just pretend the data are infact not normally distributed and instead perform weird non-parametric tests like Mann-Whitney to get the desired results... that is after you do an Anderson-Darling test to 'prove' the data are not normally distributed. DOH!!!

I'm not saying statistics are bullshit, it is just that a lot of credence is put on something that has a lot of wiggle room (rather like economics).

Actually economics annoys me. We all seem stupidly concerned with whether economists can put a straight economic value on everything around us. You have to be smoking the special cigarettes in the first place to think 'the market will always know best' when dealing with finite resources and that we will squeeze a solution to every problem out of the market. Not only do we seem happy with economics fucking up every ten years because we MUST accept that the economy works in cycles we seem to take a bullish pride in the fact that we don't have more control on the economy incase, again, we tread on the toes of economists.
