Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by bmet »

I am so Happy to hear the confirmation!!!!

50 Minutes of Docuementary is great!!!...I guess.I'm sure they have
enough stuff to extend it another hour I bet!!!
Hopefully the eventual DVD will contain extra footage!!!

What'd I tell you!!! The DSOTM EPK looked very suspect didn't it!!??
The footage on that presentation just looked like it could be used for
something else...something bigger!

This is a bonanza summer for all Floyd Fans! The Syd Barrett DVD,The
Pompeii DVD,Berlin Wall '90 DVD,DSOTM 30th Anniversary SACD, and now a hopefully decent docuementary on this great album.

Celebrate People!!!!!!!

P.S. 1972 & 1973 Unseen Concert Footage eh!!!! Mmmmm......
Wonder what that is!!??

There's a Gilmour interview in the new issue of Record Collector (Syd Floyd cover) he's asked when Floyd'sgoing to venture into DVD's - he
mentions Pulse will come out & slags off the new Pompeii ("Just stick with the origanal!")

He doesn't actually say anything about a DSOtM documentary/DVD but -
"There is quite a fair bit of footage in the studio during the making of Dark Side of the Moon. It's a bit of a con - it wans't the real recording. It's me sitting on a stool re-doing an overdub to 'Eclipse', with the same guitar, but when the record was actually finished. And those bits of Roger pretending to do 'On The Run' when he hadn't done it in the first place!"

Probably has something to do with the new Pompeii not over-glamorizing him or something.

He should grow up.

The Filming of the Sessions of DSOTM

Post by bmet »

I'm sure there were many pieces of solo work or attempts to
overdub a different bar of music into the tracks that were eventually
left off the final mix.David may have been attempting to do an alternate take on that day of filming.
Richards Wright's piano footage sounds similar
to what was on the final version of "Us & Them" but you could tell
in was a different take being done during filming that day.
I just want all or as much extra footage as they can give.If they had
spent an entire day videotaping a session back then,I'd have watched
the whole thing!!!
It's like Deep Purple's Machine Head LP.They had closed circuit TV to
help communicate between the mobile recording truck and the hotel
corridor (Were the band played) - but attempts to videotape (or even
film) the session proved futile. What A SHAME!!!
At least we have some footage of the DSOTM recording session to
cherish.So I say....Give us all you got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
