"Haggis is Scotland’s best-known regional dish. It is made from lamb’s offal (lungs, liver and heart) mixed with suet, onions, herbs and spices, all packed into a skin, traditionally made of a sheep’s stomach. Traditionally served on Burns' Night, the haggis is often accompanied by mashed potatoes and mashed turnips."

I've always been slightly right wing - which is why I like Tony Blair

I'm pretty much liberal.. I'm 18 so guess that's something to do with it. Used to like the GOP as a kid for some reason or the other till recently, the whole war in Iraq thing (which I am very much against) pushed me quite a bit left.

piper, the issue of the war in iraq makes some people in the forum very agitated, i mean especially if you are against it...
besides, they would tell you: can't you see the happy iraqis dancing in the street while the national heritage museum was being looted under the american soldiers' supervision, it doesn't matter that the Americans will sip all the oil, everybody in iraq is happy now!
be wise and try to run away with a slice of the pie like everybody else

Well this is interesting. I had always assumed that most Floyd fans were slightly left of centre (like me). This assumption was based on the fact that Roger Waters' lyrics are pretty much based on a socialist view point. Personally I find it sad to see so many "right wing" views expressed in here - if we are not careful we may as well swop our currency for the US dollar and really become George W's poodle.

I, personally, have no reason to believe that Roger Waters is a socialist. Can anybody persuade me otherwise with some logical debate?

i dont think its fair to slag off republicans so much. im not extremely conservative, but i feel for them because i think they get alot of crap from liberals, and in my experience, not as much happens the other way around. also, why is it sad that theres right wing views here?

Keith

Have you not listened to the lyrics on Money, In The Flesh, Us & Them, the KAOS album, Amused To Death to name but a few ? The thoughts and emotions behind lots of Roger Waters' work suggests a left of centre view of politics to me.

And don't forget that during the "phone in" at one KAOS concert in 1985, Roger did confess to one "caller" that he thought about Margaret Thatcher when singing Pigs (Three Different Ones).

And Tommy - you asked why I was sad about seeing so many right wing views. Well, IMHO, right wing politics tend to be the politics of the intolerant and "I'm all right Jack" sect.
