apart from floyd / barrett, what other bands or artists do you most enjoy? For me, I like listening to a lot of Classical (beethoven, chopin, bach, bartok, Stockhausen, Shostakovich, Penderecki, Ligeti being my most frequent listens). On the guitar-based musicfront, I really like Pavement, Jimi Hendrix, Dillinger Escape Plan, Donovan, King Crimson, some Springsteen (his acoustic stuff) and early Dylan, the Beatles, Canned Heat, Doc Watson, Sonny terry & Brownie Mcghee...that's all I can think of right now. On the electronic front, I like Kraftwerk, some Tangerine Dream (the earlier stuff), Aphex Twin, Plaid, some Autechre, Venetian Snares... on the hip hop front I love Public Enemy, and I like Gravediggaz, Dr Octagon, the Coup, the X Clan. Also, I really like Nina Simone (R.I.P.)
well, i'm about done with my favourites - what are your other listening pleasures? :)

I like to think I have a pretty varied musical collection, but there are certain acts I keep going back to, the three main ones being Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and The Beach Boys. I would also include The Who, Oasis, Paul Weller, Nick Drake and CSN&Y as well. I have lately I've been listening to a lot of classical music, english folk-rock (especially Fairport Convention, and the previously mentioned Nick Drake), and some of Brian Eno's ambient albums like MUSIC FOR AIRPORTS, and DISCREET MUSIC.

Heh, I feel like I have to comment that somehow, but... no...Stratovarius
I've seen them live once though.
Currently I'm really into Mansun again, and I still think their album 'Six' is one of THE best (prog-)rock albums of the nineties. Too bad they just split up though... And they'd just apparently finished recording their new album, I guess they weren't happy with it, and called it quits.....
