Relaxing songs

Post by crofloyd »

What are the PF most relaxing songs? For me it's Grantchester Meadows because it's so calm and very enjoyable to listen. Please add some more relaxing songs (it doesn't have to be stricly Floyd), so I can put a compilation for me to go to the nature, rest myself from a modern life and meditate. It works for your mental health!

Grantchester Meadows is a great song and I really love it when the bird takes off and flys across the speakers - just magic. The whole shine on suite is also very relaxing and great to chilling to.

When my son was a baby, I used to use "Echoes" to lull him into a nap, if he was overtired and didn't want to lie down. By the end of the song, he was out. :)

IMhO, A Pillow of Winds is definitely THE most relaxing. I've been searching for the guitar tablature for years now, but all I can find is the chord progressions. That song is sooooo peaceful!

I'll include some that haven't been mentioned.

Cirrus Minor
A Saucerful Of Secrets and Atom Heart Mother Suite
Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun
Pigs (3 Different Ones)
Fearless
Rain In The Country (if I could only find an mp3 of it with good sound quality)
The Grand Visier's Garden Party
Us And Them

Special recognition for Roger Water's album TPACOHH...minus the title track the cd's flawless I think.

You should search "Unknown Song." That is the better sound quality version fron Zabrisikie Point soundtrack.

Absolutely! Especially when Rick's warm, mellow organ takes over some four minutes in. Try listening to it in an overly heated room with a mug of tea. So moving it's almost scary. I love More.
