Sunday Night Documentary-Let the Outside World Know!

Post by bmet »

For those of us not living in England and who do not have a Satellite Dish:
I'm hoping someone there will write up a description of the Sunday Broadcast of the Documentary. It sounds like 1/2 of the show was
already shown on the DSOTM EPK,but if you could tell me anything
extra about the show and let the rest of the interested Floyd community
worldwide know through this topic starter,it would be greatly
appreciated.Other comments on the documentary would also be
welcome.Thanks!!!

I'll be in the pipeline filling in time.

Indeed it was. There were some choice moments in there. I particularly enjoyed the interview extracts, while showing the faces of some of the people who contributed! Nice.

It was good to see Rog saying nice things about Rick and Dave.. I don't think any was returned, although Dave did concede Roger was the driving force at the time..

I really enjoyed watching it all, but it kind of made me a bit sad though. Seeing those 4 great guys talking about the old days.. FOR GOODNESS SAKE - PUT ASIDE YOUR DIFFERENCES AND GO AND HAVE A BEER TOGETHER!!

I also now realize why Rog doesn't sing Money

Excellent documentary.

I thought, in general, the boys were quite civil, almost complimentary, about each other. Perhaps they will get together for a beer one day - something I thought would never happen in all honesty. Maybe they are beginning to realise that life's too short to bear a grudge. They all seemed to look back with fondness on the time when they were working together towards a common goal.

I thought it was a very balanced documentary. Not much was left out, was it? Informative, sometimes even enthralling...

The Concert Footage

Post by bmet »

So What of this Concert footage from '72 and '73!!??
I figure the '72 footage was seen on the DSOTM EPK (As I believe
that year was when Nick had the Ludwig 9 Piece see through drum kit)-
So what was the '73 footage? (As reported by the "Brain Damage"
site of the documentary contents).
Was each track examined more during this show?
I can't think of more question at this time....maybe later!

Yes. That's the formula for the Classic Albums series. The band members and other people look at each track in the order it comes on the original album. :)

I didn't recognize any of the concert footage, although I greatly enjoyed it! It adds a whole new dimension to your perception of a group when you see them play live, whether it's in real life or just on TV.

Any colour you like was not reviewed - they must have thought it was a filler track to make up the 40 odd minutes of DSoTM.
