Dominoes (David Gilmour in Concert)

Does anybody else really like DG's version of this Syd song? I was wondering who's playing the piano, is it Rick?

i think he did a lovely job on this sonmg.. i've not heard MANY covers (YET) of Sydsongs... but i HAVE heard atleast one i despised... so it was nice when i heard Gilmour's "dominoes"..
but after all-if ANYONE could do a great sydsong cover-- wouldn't it HAVE to be David?

I love the entire dvd, a nice unplugged concert, and that version of Dominoes he does is superb, love it.

I think both his Syd covers are great. It reminded me of how wonderful some of Syd's post Floyd work was. I'd really love to hear David do Gigolo Aunt or maybe Baby Lemonade as well.

I thought he did a very good rendition of it and he also did go on Terrapin too.

David has done Syd great justice with his versions. If anybody was qualified to do a Syd cover it would be him. They were mates long before Pink Floyd.
I've noticed in each instance that David speaks of Syd, especially in concert, he does so with the greatest of warmth and fondness. I think David's a pretty good bloke.

He did play it again in Amsterdam last sunday... I was not expecting it so that was a very nice surprise... a wonderful, warm, brooding version...

A friend of mine who doesn't know much about early Floyd didn't know it was Syds... but he told me it made him feel like the air was filled with primeval forest of tentacles, so I guess David did a pretty good job at invoking Syds spirit 8)

I most certainly was... 8)

You know, they said the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam has the best acoustics in the whole of Europe.

They lied...

David Gilmour has the best acoustics in the whole of Europe, closely followed by the Heineken Music Hall... perfect combination...

:D Fantastic venue, and the perfect city in which to get properly prepared for the gig.
